I have had many years of teaching experience at levels from young beginners to mature adults. I offer a variety of two-day workshops centered on surface design, fabric book construction, and printmaking (find examples below). Classes can be tailored to student or institutional interest. Contact me for scheduling and class fee structure.

I am not currently offering classes during Covid-19 but look forward to resuming once it is safe to do so. Follow me on Instagram for the latest updates on my class schedule.

Creating a Fabric Counting Book

In this 2-day workshop, students will learn a variety of techniques to create images and embellish fabric that will be sewn together to make a simple and durable counting book for children or a sample book for the working fiber artist. Image-making and surface design techniques will include dying, painting, drawing, printing, stenciling, sewing, and digital transfer. All sewing will be hand work. Some sewing experience is helpful, but not required.

Print to Book

Join me to learn the process of moving from concept to completed book. In this 2-day workshop. We will start with a high contrast black and white photo provided by the student, use it to inspire a short, creative writing exercise, then move on to experiment with several printmaking processes. Printmaking techniques will include relief printing, mono-printing, rubber stamping, and paper lithography. We will conclude by combining our images and text in a chapbook structure.
